Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was an athlete of natural talent and loved playing athletic games. Her ability to perform perfectly complemented her passion for sports. It was evident when she received every Feis in drama and theatre that Ireland had to offer. As a teenager Maureen was accepted to the Abbey Theater, where her love of classical theatre as well as operatic music was pursued. Charles Laughton became captivated with her stunningly beautiful eyes when seeing a screen test. Laughton changed her name to Maureen FitzSimons to Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" and it was a diminutive version of her last name. This name change occurred shortly before Laughton was able to cast her in Jamaica Inn. Maureen was contracted by Laughton to make her next film in America at RKO Pictures (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, 1939). The epic film became a massive success and Maureen's contract was eventually bought by Laughton through RKO. Maureen Laughton was already involved in two motion picture productions when she was 19 years old.
