Shay Mitchell, a Canadian model and actress is also an entrepreneur. Most famous for playing Emily Fields, she is a star of the Freeform television series Pretty Little Liars. An avid fan of Jennifer Lopez Mitchell came to be known as Shay Lo among her friends. When she was a young girl, she developed a love for the performing arts and spoke to her parents about the possibility of pursuing an acting career. After getting good at dance and modeling, Mitchell decided to study acting. She took acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell was able to land a couple of commercials. She also had in guest roles on TV shows. Her breakthrough occurred when she was hired in the role of Emily Fields. The show was highly praised both for her acting and by fans. Her next step was to be a star on the screen, through films such as Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her name gained more attention for her role as the protagonist in the psychological thriller You. Shay Mitchell, in addition to acting, has ventured into writing. She wrote a novel written for adults, titled Bliss along with Michaela Blaney.
